  Two misfits.
  One extraordinary love.

Eleanor... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Before I start the review, I would like to thank my friend Matthew for lending me this book. I didn't actually borrow borrow it, he just asked me if I wanted to read it because he had it that day. I said okay because believe it or not, I have not read a single Rainbow Rowell book yet! Do not laugh at me! *hides in a corner*

I can say that I am so happy that I borrowed the book and finally read a Rainbow Rowell book because I really liked this one! I liked this one so much that in fact, I am about to read Attachments! Reading Eleanor & Park was certainly different, and I'm glad I liked it.

Rainbow Rowell writes in a way that is different yet efficient. The simple things in the book like Park holding Eleanor's hand and others were the ones with the most feels. I like that, because when you're with someone you love, it should be that way. Also, the chapter lengths are sporadic, yet I don't really mind. In fact, it adds to the uniqueness of the book. There was also a very good romance progress which we don't find in many books, except Park's 'I love you' was misplaced. He said it too soon, but if you eliminate that, the romance progress was really good.

The ending of the book was really nice! I hated what it did to me because all I said after closing the book was 'why, why, why?', but then I knew that that was the perfect way to end it. It left me questioning what happened to the rest of Eleanor's family though. There were no mention of them whatsoever in the end of the book and that made me like this book less..

But anyway, overall, this book was really unique, cute and enjoyable. Plus, I loved how the simple things made me feel all the feels! I definitely am going to read more Rainbow Rowell books in the future!

“Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”

“What are the chances you’d ever meet someone like that? he wondered. Someone you could love forever, someone who would forever love you back? And what did you do when that person was born half a world away? The math seemed impossible.”

“I don’t like you, Park. Sometimes I think I live for you”

“You saved me life, she tried to tell him. Not forever, not for good. Probably just temporarily. But you saved my life, and now I'm yours. The me that's me right now is yours. Always.”
