Quentin Jacobson has been crushing on his next-door neighbor Margo Spiegmann almost his entire life, so when Margo invites him to go on an adventure with her one night, he agrees. To be honest, I was reluctant to go into this at first because I didn't like The Fault in Our Stars. But then I had the urge to read it one time, and I'm just so glad that I decided to give this one a chance because it turned out to be an amazing read!
Honestly, I did not like the story itself. I thought it was weird and unrealistic, but I can't help but love this book! I don't even know why I loved it, I just know that I enjoyed it tremendously while I was reading it, and the beautiful quotes were a great bonus! Also, I love how Quentin stood by his side the whole time, even though they thought he was doing something completely stupid.
I believe that John Green has a way with words which made me feel like this book was more like a poem that I actually understood rather than just a novel. I definitely liked reading this a lot better than The Fault in Our Stars, and I look forward to reading more books by the same author!
“When did we see each other face-to-face? Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours. Before that, we were just looking at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade but never seeing inside. But once the vessel cracks, the light can get in. The light can get out.”
